When it comes to our home, the bedroom should be the most relaxing place in the entire place. It is where we come at the end of the day to wind down, chill out and get some   sleep. If you want to turn your bedroom into the ultimate sanctuary for sleep, here’s how to do it.

Choose the right mattress
The most important decision you need to make in the bedroom is the mattress you will sleep on every night. If you have no idea how to choose the perfect mattress, there are some tips you can use. If you sleep on your side, a medium firmness is best for you. If you sleep on your front, you will need a firm mattress to ensure that you don’t struggle to breathe during the night. If you sleep on your back, you can think about a softer mattress which will allow the contours of your back to melt into the mattress.

Get rid of clutter
Clutter brings a cluttered mind into any space, and the last thing you want to do in your bedroom has lots of clutter which will distract you when you are trying to get to sleep. Take some time this weekend to clear out anything on your dresser, clear out the closet and make the room feel clear and clean.

No work zone
If you bring your work home or you work from home, you need to ensure that you leave it outside the bedroom. Your bedroom has to be a place in which you can relax and refresh in, so any work-related items you keep in the home should be kept well away from this part of the house. Keep your bedroom simple.

Keep it natural
When you are choosing the bedding for your room and you want to make sure it is as comfortable as possible, you need to make sure it is natural and cool. Remember that you will be sleeping in your bed every night and you will inevitably sweat on the sheets. Keep it fresh and airy, to make sure that the bedding stays clean as much as you can.

Neutral Tones
The last thing you want in your bedroom is bold colors like red and blue, you don’t want to bring any harsh colours into the space because this will make you more alert at night and you will struggle to sleep as a result. Instead, keep it neutral with white, grey, beige and other tones. You can then jazz up the space with a few small pops of color such as artwork on the wall or photographs. Keep it simple and your room will be amazing.

Plants
Plants can bring a sense of comfort and relaxation in the home and they will also increase the oxygen in your bedroom which will promote a better night’s sleep. It will also add a lovely touch of color and texture to your room without overwhelming the space which is exactly what you want.
