We all want to get flawless skin right? I'm always fighting against dark circles and blemishes (as well as the scars they leave behind)!  I'd heard of Sheer Cover before, but I'd never even tried any kind of mineral foundation, never-mind a full "studio" of products! But I took the leap and decided to give it a go, so read on for my review of Sheer Cover's Studio and Sophisticate face palette.

I'll start by giving you a quick run-down on what was was included in my Sheer Cover Studio:
  • A guide to flawless-looking skin (very useful for first timers like me!)
  • Conceal & Brighten Trio (in Light/Medium)
  • Perfect Shade Mineral Foundation SPF 15 (in Light)
  • Sun-kissed Bronzing Minerals
  • Lash Extending Fibers
  • Lengthening Mascara (in black)
  • Concealer brush
  • Foundation brush
  • Blush brush

The first step is to apply the concealer on any blemishes, marks or dark areas. For me I mainly focused on the area around my eyes as I have permanent dark circles and have done for as long as I can remember! There are 2 different concealer shades and a highlighter, which are all really easy to apply using the concealer brush. It gives such a smooth application, which makes blending the products in a breeze. Obviously your skin will decide how much or how little of the concealer you need to use, but it seems that a little goes a long way! After you've used the concealer, you can use the same brush to apply the highlighter.. I find that under the brow bone, down the bridge of the nose and across the cheekbones are the key areas.

Next step is the mineral foundation. Again the Sheer Cover brush makes this tricky job much easier! Having never used mineral foundation I was a bit skeptical, I use liquid foundation so for me a powder is a finishing touch not a base on it's own! But I was very impressed with the coverage I could achieve with this powder. If you need a heavier covering then you can build the product up quite easily, but it's just as easy for those who only need a light dusting!

Once you've got your face base sorted it's time for the finishing touches using the Sun-kissed Bronzing Minerals and blush brush. You can use the colours separately or use all 3 together! Again I found the tips in the guide really useful for this application! These give a lovely shimmer, as well as providing a lovely bronzed glow and that all-important contouring effect!

Now you've finished your skin it's time to move on to your eyes using the Lengthening Mascara & Lash Extending Fibers! A couple of coats of mascara first, followed by some fibers, then another coat of mascara will have you fluttering your gorgeous lashes all day & night long! The mascara is actually quite good on it's own, although I don't think I'd use it in place of my normal product (you can see a photo of my lashes with just the mascara below). The fibers were a bit more tricky for me, it feels a bit like draping cotton wool on your eyelashes which I found uncomfortable, so they are one product out of the studio that I wouldn't use again or recommend. But if you're used to wearing false-lashes then you'd probably get on with them much better than me!

Overall, I was very impressed with Sheer Cover's Studio. I found all the products easy to apply, and the brushes made some tricky jobs much more manageable (plus they're beautiful). The concealers and foundation give great coverage, that is easily built up to your desired level. The "bronzers" gave a lovely summer glow that I'll definitely be looking too as Autumn approaches. The mascara did a decent job on it's own, but isn't a product I'd buy separately from the kit, and the Lash Extending Fibers aren't really for me but others might find them more comfortable!

Now moving on to the Sheer Cover Sophisticate Face Palette! The shades in this are truly wonderful, I adore it! It includes:
  • Blush (in shade Ginger)
  • Eyeshadow duo (in shades Pebble & Sable)
  • Eyeshadow duo (in shades Charcoal and Mauve)
  • Lipgloss duo (in shades Caramel Ice and Ballerina)
  • Small eyeshadow sponge applicator
  • Small blush sponge
  • Small lipgloss brush

The eyeshadows are easy to apply, with a smooth finish and very blend-able. I love all the colours as they are perfect for a nude "smokey" eye (contradiction in terms I know). Although I'd only use 'Charcoal' in moderation such as giving a smudge-effect to my upper eyeliner.
The lipglosses are soft and silky, without any of that nasty stickiness that often accompanies palette glosses. I can't say the brush is the most effective tool for application as I found my finger much easier to use! They also don't give a strong colour once on your lips, but do provide a gentle shimmer and there is a visible difference between the two shades.

I will definitely be a regular user of the Sheer Cover Sophisticate Face Palette, the shades are exactly what I would choose for myself and they look fantastic together.

I'd love to know if you've used any Sheer Cover products before, or if you like the look of these, so please leave me a comment below!

Stay safe,x
