Well the sun is back, which means it's time to start preparing our bodies for public viewing (well not all of it!), for me this means paying some close attention to my legs, although even in summer I hide them away for as long as possible.
Part of this preparation is, of course, hair removal. Do we wax? Do we shave? Epilate? Removal Cream? Get someone else to do it for us? There's so many questions!
Now I'm normally a shaving girl, it's quick, it's cheap and it doesn't hurt (unless your hand slips!). But I decided to delve into the world of hair removal creams and try out this new offering from Nads... their Sensitive Hair Removal Creme.
Nads' Sensitive Hair Removal Creme contains honey & chamomile, to soothe your skin, so it shouldn't irritate you even if you have sensitive skin. It claims to work in 4 minutes, but I found it definitely took closer to 10 (which is the maximum time you can leave this stuff on). Of course this depends largely on what type of hair you have. If you have thin hair, that's easier to remove, whereas thicker (often darker) hair takes longer.
But it is easy to use, just apply a thick layer to the area you want to remove hair from (it's suitable for arms, legs, underarms and bikini area) leave for 4 minutes (ish), and then remove using the exfoliating sponge in the shower.
Talking about the sponge, I love the fact they've put some real thought into this and given it it's own holder in the bottle (although I would prefer to get more product there instead!) it's so handy to have somewhere to pop the sponge when you've finished. But the sponge itself I found a bit too rough. This product is for sensitive skin, so it needs to be gentle. The sponge was too harsh on my skin, leaving it red & sore, so I abandoned it and used my hands. It's a shame that the sponge itself isn't as clever as it's hiding place.
The creme itself does work, like I said it takes longer than stated, but it does remove hair. One thing I would say is that when it says thick layer, it means a really thick layer, so be prepared to get messy!
But the formula itself does live up to it's billing. I didn't find it irritating at all, and it did leave my legs soft and smooth.
Overall, Nads' Sensitive Hair Removal Creme is a good product, and if you're someone who has thinner, fairer hair it could be perfect for you. For me, it needs to work a bit quicker, and the sponge needs changing. I'm not going to be putting down my razor in favour of this just yet, because I generally don't have the time to wait around. But if you don't like razors or waxing, or if you just want to take a bit of time, you might find this a great product to buy, but remember be gentle with the sponge!
You can buy Nads' Sensitive Hair Removal Creme from Boots, Tesco & Sainsbury's for £10.99 (Tesco price).
Tell me, what is your preferred method of hair removal, and why?
Stay safe guys, x
PS.. here's a final photo of the creme on my legs, it is there honest, I'm just that pale! Oh and the strange lines around my knee are because I'd just taken a knee brace off (oops)!
