We all know Katie Price and we are all aware at how amazing her makeup looks, even through her various style changes. Well Katie has now created her own range of makeup and skincare products, which in her own words:
"perform just as well… if not better, than my favourites but at less than half the price!"
Katie Price collected all her favourite products and then tasked her hard-working team with the challenge of making something just as good, and I've been putting a couple of items to test, but more on that later.
The new Katie Price range includes:
One of the other items included in the new Katie Price range is the Baked Highlighter, which comes in both light and warm tones, with the warm being the one you can see above ^^. While I definitely prefer this to the light version, which is very white, I was put-off with how shimmery it is. It's very smooth and creamy despite being a powder and is lovely to apply, as it's easily buildable, but it really does look very glittery and that means I wouldn't wear it day-to-day. At £6 it's a reasonable price for a good formula, I just wish it gave the highlight without the shimmer.
Another product I put to the test was the Face Cleanser (£5) and this one I love. It's a great formula, very smooth and creamy that goes on like a dream and rinses off easily, leaving skin feeling clean and refreshed, but definitely not stripped or tight. I've used it in two ways; both applied to wet skin and dry.. it worked perfectly in both cases and that means it's great for days when you've got a lot of makeup to remove and want to really work it into dry skin, and when you don't need to cleanse quite as much so you can use it on wet skin. It also contains witch hazel so it has plenty of skin benefits! I would happily recommend this face wash as I'm still using it myself and it does everything you need for a cleanser at a great price.
The last product I tried out from the new range is the Katie Price Contour Kit (£15). Now you will know if you've been here a while, that contouring is something I generally cannot be bothered with, but I do attempt it now and then, so what better than a palette that contains everything you need? There are 6 shades from a light highlighter to two sort-of concealer shades, before three darker tones for shading. Now the highlighter I like a lot, it's got the same formula as the baked compact I mentioned earlier but without the same amount of shimmer. It's buildable, blendable and gives a great finish. The next two shades along aren't something I expected to see in a contour kit but I suppose depending on your skintone they might work as extra highlight shades for you. Personally, I found both worked really well as powder concealers, especially on dark circles under my eyes so a bonus for me! Then the three darker shades and here's where it came undone for me I'm afraid. The first three shades I love, great formula and really usable for me, the last three? Not so much. They all have very reddish undertones which just doesn't work on my skin and I found their formula slightly different, it was really hard to find the perfect line between it blending away into virtually nothing and not blending at all which was disappointing. I'd have liked something between the darkest of the light shades and the lightest of the dark shades because the three you'd use for contour are all way too dark for me. I will continue using this palette but only the first three shades and not for contouring, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it as I don't use it for it's intended purpose, but it would all depend on the look you go for and your individual skintone because I know the darker shades would definitely suit some of my friends who are darker than me.
So overall, I think Katie Price and her team have done a good job with the new range, there are definitely products that I would purchase and for the most part, I think they've got the price point right. I'm not a huge fan of the packaging, it's a little "young" for me, but I think it's probably in keeping with her brand so fans will like it. The formula of the items I tried is high quality and a lot of effort has definitely gone into that. I really liked the Face Cleanser so I'll definitely carry on using that, it's quite a simple product without too many "bells & whistles" so unless I find something better it's likely to become a permanent feature on my bathroom shelf.
I'd love to know your thoughts on the range... If you have tried it what did you think? If you haven't will you? Why, why not? I can't wait to read your comments as always!
Stay safe, x
