Now you've probably heard that blue light isn't great for you. It can make your eyes tired while keeping you awake. You might find you get headaches after a lot of screen time or that your eyes become itchy or dry. It also affects your circadian rhythm, which is basically how your body knows when to sleep and when to be awake, because your main source of blue light would normally come from the sun. But if you're spending a lot of time looking at screens, especially later in the day, then your brain might get a bit confused. I've actually been using blue light glasses for a while, but my favourite pair actually broke recently (the arm snapped off.. oops) so when the lovely people from Spektrum Glasses asked if I'd like to review their Prospek glasses that filter blue light, I jumped at the chance! I gave two different pairs of glasses from Prospek a try and both were from their 50 range, which means they filter out 50% of blue light from your devices, they also have a few that filter 99% if you're more sensitive. The idea is that they're more suitable for daytime use as they have a lighter tint, which makes them less obvious as blue light glasses and also lets more of the visible light spectrum through so your colours aren't as distorted. The first pair you can see above are their Professional (£39.95) style, they have black rims but red inners for a really stylish but also professional look so I can see why they chose that name. They are so comfortable and lightweight to wear that you can almost forget they're there at all, I'm actually wearing them right now. They do have a visible yellow tint both when you're looking through them and when others look at you, but it's nothing off-putting. If you're doing very precise colour specific work you might have to just lift them up to check every now and then but they're definitely not as distortive as others I've tried. I really do like the style of these glasses, they would look perfectly at home in any office or work situation as well as being comfortable and casual enough for everyday wear too. My second pair are the Peak (£34.95) style, which are also listed as "teenager" online, and have a slightly thicker look with blue detailing on the inside. Other than appearance they're exactly the same as the other pair, with both filtering 50% of blue light and having the same level of tint. They also feel very comfortable to wear, although they are more noticable on your face simply because of their thicker design, but some days I quite like that. I really like both pairs and have one pair downstairs where I do most of my computer work and the other pair next to my bed for late-night instagram scrolling (don't judge me). Blue light glasses made a huge difference to my life and my eyes. I've always had dry eyes, because I don't blink enough apparently, but glasses made that far more manageable. They also reduced the amount of headaches I was having from eye strain to almost zero and I find it much easier to fall asleep. I rely heavily on blue light glasses and wear them from around 3pm onwards. If my eyes are really tired or if I can feel a migraine coming then they also really help then too. I simply can't speak highly enough of blue light glasses in general and Prospek have really brought some brilliant designs that work well, are comfortable to wear and look stylish, while not making it immediately obvious that they're not just normal glasses. I also have to mention their cases... these aren't cheap plastic boxes or zip cases. They look great, they have magnetic snap closures and they really do protect your glasses. Thanks to the coating on the lenses these glasses also don't attract fingerprints as much as previous pairs I've had, which is a very welcome bonus. Would I recommend Prospek Blue Light Glasses? Absolutely, I don't know how anyone who spends a lot of time looking at screens (so basically all of us) can live without them! At just under £40 I know they're not cheap but they are worth every single penny and I'm already looking at perhaps buying a 3rd pair in a different style because they're so wearable (I like the different design of these). As always, I'd love to know what you think, especially if you use blue light glasses yourself, so please drop me a comment down below! Stay safe, x * I was sent these glasses for the review, but all thoughts, opinions and photos are my own. I've spoken about blue light glasses before here, so this really is my opinion, not influenced by anyone else.*
