Well it's that time of year again.... Christmas is right around the corner and it's time to start preparing! That means food, drink, decorations, gifts and just about everything else you can possibly think of (although who actually buys a new sofa for Christmas? Just wondering...)
Now I'll admit that yes it is still a little bit early for all the festivness but for you to know about it in time I have to be "ahead of the game" as it were and Aldi feel the same way as their Christmas specialbuys are in stores now as long as stocks last (some are also online and you browse those here). I've got a few items to talk you through in a bit more depth, but first let's take a look at the entire range... Lights
Sockets
Decorations
Now you know the whole range, I'm going to tell you a little bit more about the items I've got my hands on. If you follow me on instagram, you'll have a seen a sneak peek of a couple of these already (I couldn't contain my festiveness)!
The first item I got quite excited about was the set of 3 parcels that are in the title image. I absolutely love them. They're a simple idea but really effective, especially when lit up. They come with 8 different light functions, so you can find an effect for you and a timer which does 6 hours on and 18 hours off, which is great if you're like me and you always forget to switch the Christmas lights off! I've got a short video for you to show the different modes below..
From parcels to Christmas trees and another one that those on instagram would've seen first! This is technically called the Christmas Tree Snow Globe and I love it. I essentially reverted to being an excited child, I could happily watch it for ages. It's battery operated (included) so you can place it absolutely anywhere and it changes colour along with a "glitter swirl".
Sticking with a nature theme (even light-up trees count as nature) and the next item is for the outside of your home this Christmas. It's the Holly Effect Topiary Ball... I ADORE IT. I haven't been able to hang it outside yet simply because I don't have a hook on my porch at the moment, but that's on my to-do list for the weekend. I have, however, fallen in love with it anyway because it looks amazing and I just know how much I'm going to love seeing it near my front door. It lights up thanks to 25 LEDs that are battery operated (included) and comes with the chain to hang it with. It's just beautiful.
Keeping an outdoor feel but back inside in the warm, you can create your own little Christmas village! There are 2 churches and 2 houses, each costing £9.99 and I love the feel they give. I cannot wait to design our own little Christmas scene... maybe even incorporating it with our Nativity crib. One word of warning... you will be covered in glitter, but it's totally worth it. All 4 items light up inside thanks to battery operated LEDS, batteries aren't included but the holder is hidden away in a secret door at the back which I think is a lovely touch. I adore these and I know they're going to look fantastic this Christmas.
And then for the final item I tried out from the range, the Santa Sleigh Candle Arch, which is a "modern take on the traditional candle arch". Like the other lights, this is battery powered so again, place it where you wish! This isn't my usual style really, but I actually really like it, it's a lovely sweet thing and the light it gives off is very soothing. The stars are packed seperately in the box so they don't break, so once you've popped those on you're good to go. I think this would look lovely on a shelf or window this Christmas, and it's a perfecting finishing touch.
So that's the Aldi Lights and Decorations specialbuys range! I'd love to know what you think and if you intend to get your hands on any of the items yourself... so please leave me a comment below. I adore the pieces I've got and I'll definitely be taking a further look tomorrow when I pop in (to my new, even closer to home store) for some food!
Make sure you write down your Christmas to-do list early! Stay safe, x
