Yes that is my foot peeking out.. #TinyFeet
Well it's finally October; this month brings shorter days and longer nights, colder and wetter weather, lots of pumpkin flavoured treats, and the first opportunity to get comfy and cosy whilst snuggled up at home with a cup of hot chocolate!

I love the change of the seasons, and Autumn is my favourite.. although be warned I will moan about the cold and rain consistently from now on.

I also love getting cosy in the evenings.. there are few things more pleasurable than snuggling up with a warm blanket, some biscuits, a hot drink and something good to watch on TV. As I've been getting my home ready for the colder months ahead I noticed that I was missing something vital.. a thick, warm, cosy blanket to cuddle up under. Thankfully I've found the perfect blanket for the job from The Tartan Blanket Co, I actually have a gorgeous scarf from them too which I reviewed here last year.

As you can see above the blanket comes beautifully packaged.. I have kept this box for storage once the weather gets warm again, it's perfect for just slotting into the wardrobe or placing under the bed once the blanket isn't needed.

Now onto the blanket itself! I'm cuddling up under a Jacob Tartan blanket, but there are so many different clan tartans for you to choose from on the website. I chose Jacob because it's a bright, light tartan that still looks cosy.. it also matches the decor in my home so it won't be too out of sync. Another favourite of mine is the Bannockbane tartan.. maybe I need two blankets, what do you think?

Some wool can be a bit rough and itchy but you don't need to worry about these blankets, they are so soft and comfortable against your skin. If you wanted extra softness The Tartan Blanket Co also make cashmere and lambswool blankets!

As you can see in the photo above the blanket is a brilliant size, the bed is Super King so I was really impressed when it covered the entire width and almost up to the pillows! Large blankets are really hard to find, but this is perfect. The full size of the blanket is 175 cm x 150 cm, and on two edges 10 cm of this is made up of the fringing. It is perfect for adding a bit of extra warmth now before the big duvet changeover, but it will also provide much needed warmth in the depths of winter too!

If I'm honest it didn't stay on the bed long though, as I have staked my ownership on it for the sofa! I'm actually reveling in it's warmth right now, as it's over my knees keeping my constantly cold feet toasty! The dog tried to claim it, but I quickly put a stop to that nonsense as this blanket is for me alone.. except for pre-approved cuddles!

I love how evident the Scottish heritage is in all of The Tartan Blanket Co's products, it's close to my heart as I have Scottish roots (although Smith tartan isn't very pretty unfortunately).

I've really enjoyed having a lovely, heavy (in a good way), soft and warm blanket to snuggle under now it's getting colder and darker. Unfortunately, the rest of the house keep coveting it so I might have to get a couple more to keep everyone happy.. it's only fair I guess?

I would definitely recommend a woolen blanket from The Tartan Blanket Co.. and I have been doing, to just about anyone who will listen! They are absolutely perfect to keep yourself cosy, but they would also make really lovely gifts (it's not too early to start thinking about Christmas)!

The Classic Wool Tartan Blanket costs just £30.. that is the most incredible bargain, especially given it's superior quality and massive size! You can browse the whole range of tartan blankets here.
