An Introduction
Hello and an early Merry Christmas to you! Okay, so that's maybe going a bit far isn't it? But we are here for festive reasons! Now while advent lasts for 24 days (if you're lucky your calendar may have a bonus choccy for the 25th), Advent on smeethsaysfashion.com is only going to last 4 days. Stingy I know. I've found 3 of my favourite Advent calendars on the market, that are each different to each other and also to what you're probably used to! On day 4 I'll do a roundup feature with a few others that are worth considering as we countdown to Christmas. Enjoy!
So the first Advent Calendar to tell you about is the Countdown to Christmas Advent Activity Calendar (which you can find over at Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous - my new favourite site - here for £14.95) designed by Illustries. Now I'll be completely honest with you... I fell in love with this calendar on sight.
For many Advent is now just about opening a door and eating a small festive shaped chocolate, which is absolutely fine by the way, but it could be so much more than that. Obviously, if you're of Christian faith then the period leading up to Christmas will already have a separate significance, but why not use those 24 days and the framework of Christmas to do something creative? The activity calendar is technically aimed at children, with children of school age able to do most of the activities, although some might require a bit of adult help. But as an adult (well sometimes) I am so looking forward to doing this every day next month... There's decorations to make, a santa letter to write, things to bake and so much more. But seeing is believing (which Christmas film was that?) so let me show you some of the beautiful inside...
I was so impressed with how well made this advent calendar is. The paper and printing is incredibly high quality and real thought and consideration has gone into every single page. It's one of those pieces that you just know isn't "mass-produced", you can feel that care that has gone into it's making, which is something that I really appreciate.
Every single page is a guaranteed piece of joy for either you or your little ones this Christmas, and I just know you'll love this Advent Activity Calendar as much as I do! I cannot recommend it highly enough, it's simply amazing. As you can see I've kept mine pristine so far, simply because I want to save the excitement for next month, but every page is wonderful. To save you from scrolling back up to the top, you can find the calendar at Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous, where you can also do a bit of Christmas shopping! I'd love to know your thoughts on the Advent Activity Calendar.. is it something you can see you or your family doing? Stay safe and get festive, x
