Sometimes I just want to settle down somewhere cosy, with a cup of tea and read a fun book... nothing too serious, just fun and flirty, with a healthy dose of romance and hopefully, a few laughs along the way too. Well, I was definitely not disappointed when I picked up Exes by Aria Hawthorne a couple of weeks ago.
This book is actually part of a wider series but the author has made them all perfectly readable as stand-alone novels and I didn't feel that I was missing out on parts of the story so they're definitely individual reads.
I was really impressed with the twist in the story which changed how you viewed the first part and brought a whole new aspect into play for the rest of the book. (No spoilers here, but it is a good twist).
Is there sex? Yes absolutely and it's goooooood but the story is about more than that, so don't worry about it being all sex and nothing else. But seriously, the sex is gooooooooood.
Alongside the romance is a wonderful story of history which I adored (I'm a history buff) and definitely made the difference between a good love story and an incredible one.
Without giving away too much of the story I can't say much more but this book is a wonderful tale of love, passion, history and doing what's right. I would happily recommend it and I'll definitely be reading it again!
