Turning the house into the home is a major life goal shared by millions of families across the globe. Sadly, many wrongly feel that it takes major developments to achieve this. In truth, though, the smallest upgrades often bring the biggest improvement.

Here are five key items that can instantly transform the home into a better environment for your family to grow....

Better Lighting
We all know that light plays a huge role in a room’s design. This is something you should place near the very top of you agenda. After all, a brighter home is a happier one too!
Encouraging more natural light by installing better windows is one option. However, using touch lamps and other electrical appliances can be crucial to setting the mood. Don’t underestimate the importance of this simple feature.

Home Office Space
Computers are a vital resource in modern life, and the average family needs them on a daily basis. Whether it’s for work or school homework, having a home office space can make life easier for everyone.
Quality computer desks should provide a place to work while also helping you stay organised and on top of the necessary tasks. Quite frankly, this is one of the most important products in the modern household. Make sure you find the best solution. You can see how I style my desk here and you can see my desk below!

Security Systems
If nothing else, you should feel safe inside the privacy of your home. If the property doesn’t boast this quality, it will be impossible to seek pure enjoyment from it. Therefore, installing CCTV and better security systems is a must!
It’s not the thought of having items stolen that should scare you; it’s the emotional scars that it could cause to your loved ones. As they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry. For me I hate the thought of someone coming into my home and going through my belongings. So get yourself a good security system, take precautions and get a guard dog ;) !

Water Purifier
Healthy living should be a priority for every family. Good hydration is easily one of the most important aspects of your nutrition and diet. With this in mind, investing in a water purifier is a must.
Buying bottled water is expensive and takes effort. Conversely, tap water does little to make drinking water sound appealing. Filtered water is the key to encouraging better drinking habits for you, and the entire family. Embrace it with open arms, and you’ll see a noticeable change to your health.
We don't have one of these, but I am seriously considering it as we have very hard water here!

Comfy Bed
It is only natural to concentrate on ways to make the home a better place to spend your waking hours. However, one of the best upgrades you can make is to improve your quality of sleep. After all, you should be spending eight hours of your night tucked up in bed. You might as well make it comfortable.
Investing in a better mattress won’t only improve your sleep. It will directly impact your energy levels while also improving physical features like your skin and hair too. Meanwhile, it could reduce the risk of neck and back injuries later in life!
I also think it's important to consider your pillows.. I'm a BIG believer in memory foam pillows and wouldn't sleep without one!

I hope these tips have helped. Make these changes, and it won’t be long before you notice those vast improvements.

Let me know what you think; what are your tips?

Stat safe, x
